Two Fleming County brothers facing hundreds of illegal hunting charges entered guilty pleas and agreed to pay more than $20,000 in fines, restitution and court costs, serve time in home incarceration and lose their hunting privileges for three years.
Larry Fryman, 69, and his brother, Danny Fryman, 63, entered guilty pleas to their charges Aug. 17 in Fleming District Court.
Larry Fryman’s convictions included 115 counts of illegally taking a deer or turkey, and one count of terroristic threatening. Danny Fryman’s convictions included 114 counts of illegally taking a deer or turkey.
The cases began last November when conservation officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources say they discovered Larry Fryman hunting illegally in Mason County. Investigators later discovered hundreds of illegal antler sets at the family’s farm near Flemingsburg.
The court ordered each brother to pay $10,000 in restitution and stripped them of their hunting privileges for three years.
Larry Fryman received a $750 fine, additional restitution of $200 and was ordered to pay $153 in court costs. He also received a sentence of 360 days, to serve 60 days in home incarceration with the balance probated.
The court fined Danny Fryman $500 and sentenced him to 360 days, to serve 30 days in home incarceration with the balance probated. His court costs were $153.
