Eagle Soccer falls to Buckeyes in Columbus

MSU Athletics

The Morehead State soccer team fell to Ohio State 7-0 on Thursday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Field.

Morehead State trailed 3-0 at half before conceding five second-half goals. Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Eva Helgadottir started and played the entire first half before giving way to senior goalkeeper Michelle Washburn. Helgadottir made four saves in the first 45 minutes of action while Washburn made eight.

The Eagles' offense was stifled by the Buckeyes defense and were unable to get off any shots in the loss while Ohio State fired 37 shots with 20 on goal.

Morehead State will now return home to Jayne Stadium to face Kennesaw State on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
