After picking up the latter three victories of a four-game win streak, Morehead State women's basketball saw two of its players recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference for their performance on the court last week.

Junior guard Miranda Crockett was named OVC Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while fellow junior Tierra McGowan was named OVC Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season.

Crockett averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 steals on the week, capping it off with a career-high 28 points on 13-of-16 (.813) shooting, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the Eagles' 75-55 win at Lipscomb on Dec. 2.

Crockett began her week flirting with a potential second career triple-double, logging 20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and five steals in a 115-39 win over Kentucky Christian on Nov. 28. The 5-foot-8 Preseason All-OVC honoree becomes the first Morehead State Eagle to garner OVC Player of the Week in 2017-18.

McGowan kept alive her streak of double-digit-rebound performances in each of Morehead State's three wins, bringing her total to nine on the season. In the Nov. 28 win over KCU, McGowan turned in a season-best 35 points on 15-of-17 (.882) shooting, 11 rebounds, and four blocks.

The 6-foot-3 former Rock Valley (Ill.) standout followed the monumental outing with 23 points and 12 rebounds in an 85-81 come-from-behind win over Southern Illinois on Nov. 30.

In addition to earning a second consecutive OVC Newcomer of the Week title, McGowan was named Madness OVC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness last Monday. UT Martin guard Kendall Spray was named OVC Co-Player of the Week along with Crockett.
