Barker-Tabor case to be heard Tuesday

The hearing for a civil case against the Rowan Circuit Court Clerk will be held in Greenup County Tuesday.

Morehead-area resident Sam King filed a motion to contest Circuit Clerk Kim Barker-Tabor’s qualifications to run for re-election last week.  King claims he has proof that Barker-Tabor hasn’t been a resident of the county long enough to legally for run for the office.  She was appointed to the position in January after her father retired.

The case was originally set to be heard in Rowan Circuit Court by a Special Judge this Friday.  Chief Regional Judge Eddie Coleman appointed Judge Robert Conley to hear the case.  Conley placed the hearing on the docket for tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Greenup Circuit Court.   Conley presides in Greenup and Lewis Counties.
