Athletics partners with Rowan County Public Library to offer special library cards, ticket discounts

MSU Athletics

In conjunction with National Library Card Sign-Up Month, Morehead State Athletics and the Rowan County Library have partnered for limited edition "One Town One Team" library cards to promote community engagement, literacy and the use of public libraries.

"The Rowan County Public Library is excited to be partnering with the Morehead State University Athletic Department and we are proud to be a part of the "One Town, One Team" campaign," said Tim Gampp, Executive Director of the Rowan County Public Library. "When two organizations as important to the community as Morehead State and the Public Library can find a way to work together, the citizens of Rowan County are the real winners. We are hopeful that this will be a long lasting and mutually beneficial partnership. Go Eagles!"

The public can sign up for the "One Town One Team" card at the library (175 Beacon Hill Drive), and that will also entitle the cardholder to a special ticket rate at the following Morehead State athletic events.

*Oct. 6th Football vs. San Diego - $6.00 ticket (reg. $17.00)

*Oct. 7th Soccer vs. Austin Peay - $2.00

*Oct. 13th Volleyball vs. Southeast Missouri - $2.00

Additional ticket discounts will be offered at future home events.

"For many of us, the first time discovering and reading books was at your local public library. Getting a library card was one of your first responsibilities as a child," said Senior Associate Director of Athletics Brad Smith. "Athletics continues to serve as a bridge to education, and I hope everyone goes to the library and picks up their new 'One Town. One Team' library card."

Fans must show the library card at the ticket entrance to receive the discount.
