12th Annual Regional Entrepreneur Conference Set for Sept. 5

Morehead State University’s Center for Regional Engagement, Morehead Small Business Development Center and the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce will present 12th Annual Regional Entrepreneur Conference.

The event will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morehead Conference Center.

Registration is $15 per person and includes lunch. 

The Regional Entrepreneur Conference is a one-day event for the small business owner and entrepreneur providing professional development and encouraging economic growth.

This year’s event, “Small Town Opportunities,” will feature keynote presenter, Marc Wilson, exhibitor booths, workshops and training opportunities.

Wilson, a national retail consultant, has helped more than 1,000 retailers, restaurants and tourism-related small businesses in more than 300 towns. To help keep small retailers relevant during this turbulent economic time, he helps bring focus to why their offering is unique, who its customers are and how to better reach them.

The Morehead SBDC is part of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC), a network of 15 offices located throughout the state that help existing and startup businesses succeed by offering high quality, in-depth and hands-on services.

The KSBDC is a partner program with the U.S. Small Business Development Administration SBA.

Greg Jenkins has been the Operations Director at MSPR since 1999. Greg is a 1996 graduate of Morehead State University with a BME in Music Education and received a Masters of Science in Industrial Technology in 2008. Greg oversees training, scheduling, and evaluation of the student board operator staff, preparation of the daily traffic logs and serves as weekday classical music host. He is also the webmaster of the MSPR website and maintains MSPR's webstreaming and podcasting.
